POSITION OVERVIEW:
Equity Group Investments (EGI) is seeking an Investment Analyst to support the investment team in all aspects of deal execution and investment management including deal structuring, including due diligence, building financial models, and preparing investment memos. They will collaborate with deal team members, portfolio company leadership (e.g., CEOs and CFOs), and external advisors. Successful candidates will be able to manage their time effectively between existing portfolio investments and supporting new investment opportunities. While EGI primarily focuses on control buyouts, candidates should be interested in pursuing a career in investing across a broad range of opportunities, including private and public ownership, as well as equity and debt securities, across various industries.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
New Deal Support
- Support all aspects of new deal execution including due diligence, financing modeling, deal structuring, negotiation, investment committee approval and execution.
- Actively participate in the due diligence process, including maintenance of diligence trackers, research and modeling when evaluating new investments.
- Build and interpret financial models (e.g., LBO models) to evaluate investment opportunities and outcomes.
- Examine financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and project future performance.
Portfolio Company Support
- Perform business, financial, and operational analysis across portfolio companies.
- Attend portfolio company board and management meetings, capture notes, summarize next steps and key insights for the investment team and project manage follow up activity.
- Participate in ad hoc special projects and track long-term strategic initiatives alongside the Deal Team and portfolio company leadership.
Other Analytical and Team Support
- Provide market research support including an overview of market trends at macro and micro level in support of current and potential investments/themes.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in finance, business management, engineering, economics, or related field with a competitive GPA.
- Minimum of one year of applicable experience in private equity, investment banking, accounting/transaction services, or corporate development.
- Strong accounting, finance, modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills supported by a high proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Salary Description: $150,000 - $165,000
